Taipei, Nov. 7, 2008 (CENS)--Thanks to its hot-selling HTC Diamond series smartphones all around the world, Taiwan-based High Tech Computer Corp. (HTC), a world-caliber vendor of handsets, saw its October revenue hit a single-month high of NT$16.036 billion, up 17% from a month earlier, according to company sources.

Since officially promoting G1, the world's first smartphone based on Google's Android platform and sold by T-Mobile in the U.S. and the U.K., HTC has seen its handsets shipment increasing explosively since the fourth quarter. At the moment, G1 sells for a contract price of US$179 in the U.S., lower than Apple's iPhone 3G at US$199, and is even free in the U.K. as long as consumers opt to take the phone under a subscription contract of paying 40 pounds monthly.

HTC's October revenue of NT$16.036 billion was 22.42% more than NT$13.1 billion posted a year earlier and 10% higher than its original all-time high of NT$14.5 billion realized last November. The brand has aggregated its revenue at NT$121.2 billion for the first 10 months of this year, rising by 30.81% from a year earlier.

Impervious to the global economic recession, HTC predicted its fourth-quarter revenue to hit NT$48 billion, up 25% from last year, and 2008 revenue to rise by 29% annually to exceed NT$150 billion for the first time.

In addition to G1 adopted by T-Mobile for sale in the fourth quarter, HTC's Diamond and Touch Pro have also been promoted by Japanese telecom service providers, including NTT DoCoMo, Softbank, Emobile and KDDI, and Touch HD by Orange in the U.K. Meanwhile, the brand's Touch 3G series have been available in Taiwan, India, Hong Kong and Singapore.
