Taipei, Feb. 8, 2010 (CENS)--Luxgen Motor Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of domestic Yulon Group set up to market the indigenous LUXGEN own-brand car models, immediately became the 7th-largest auto seller in Taiwan in January with monthly sales volume of 755 units.
The auto seller is even more optimistic about its sales after June, when it will formally launch the locally produced LUXGEN7 SUV model and will aim to rank among the top five auto brands on the island.
Luxgen Motor unveiled its first car model, the LUXGEN7 MPV (multi-purpose van), in September 2009. Sales volume of the 100% homegrown vehicle developed by Hua-chuang Automobile Information Technical Center Co. Ltd. (HAITEC) has been increasing month by month, with the aggregate ordered volume reaching around 4,000 units (including 755 in January).
The LUXGEN7 SUV was unveiled at the Taipei International Auto Show in December 2009, and orders for the new model has exceeded 500 units even before its brochures are printed. The sales record has further strengthened Yulon management`s confidence.
The February is traditionally an off month for automobile sales in Taiwan due to the Chinese New Year holidays, but Luxgen claimed that it anticipates to sell more than 500 new cars in the month, making it one of the top-five sellers.
Other automakers admitted that Luxgen`s sales performance is better than originally expected. They attributed the good sales performance to Luxgen`s right market positioning and the right product choice of the LUXGEN7 MPV, which effectively won hot responses in the least competitive segment.
