Taipei, Feb. 9, 2010 (CENS)--Kinpo-Compal Group chairman S.H. Hsu recently announced that its group will see combined sales grow 25% to reach US$33 billion, or about NT$1.05 trillion, in 2010.
Major members of the group include Compal Electronics Inc., Kinpo Electronics Inc., Acbel Polytech Inc., and Cal-Comp Electronics (Thailand) Corp.
Hsu said his group maintained sales growth in all product lines last year, despite the impact of the global meltdown. The group scored US$26.4 billion in sales in 2009, for an annual growth of 21%.
For instance, Compal will see high growth in contract production of notebook personal computers this year. Kinpo has recently secured new clients for the production of set-top-boxes and hard drives. Hsu attributed the projected substantial growth in sales this year to the recovery of the world electronics market.
Another factor contributing the momentous sales growth is the effectiveness of the division of labor between Kinpo and Acbel Polytech. In the LED (light emitting diode) area, Kinpo is responsible for the production of indoor LED lighting while Acbel Polytech focuses on LED street lamps. Moreover, Acbel Polytech will offer power supplies to meet the demand of Kinpo for rolling out STBs and hard drives.
Kinpo president S.J. Shen said his company will be able to ship 15 million units of set-top-boxes this year. The company has pledged to become Taiwan`s largest manufacturer in the fields of set-top-boxes, printers, electronic pianos, and LED energy-saving products.
Acbel president C.S. Kao said his company has set a "123" goal this year, calling for NT$10 billion (about US$312.5 million) in sales in each of its industrial power and consumer power units, with combined sales exceeding NT$20 billion (US$625 million) to secure a 30% year-on-year growth.
