Taipei, June 4, 2010 (CENS)--The gradually recovering global economy is giving bright outlook to Taiwan`s leading manufacturers of industrial PCs as Advantech Co., Adlink Technology Inc., Flytech Group International Inc., XAC Automation Corp. and Winmate Communication Inc., with some expected to see second-quarter sales hit record highs.
Both Winmate and XAC said they will see sales in the second quarter exceed that of the first quarter. Winmate said its sales in the second quarter will grow 20% from the previous one. XAC is expected to see cumulative sales reach US$31.05 million in the first half of this year.
Advantech, Adlink and Flytech say they will see sales hit a record high in the second quarter.
Winmate general manager K.C. Lu noted his company would see a 15% to 20% growth in sales in the second quarter from the previous one. Based on sales of US$8.07 million, the company will see sales exceed US$9.31 million in the second quarter. The company said its major product lines will be point-of-sales systems and industrial tablet PCs which are in high demand amid the medical, communication and warehousing industries.
Despite flat sales, Winmate is doing its best to keep gross profit margin high, and saw gross profit margin stand at 39%, with the ratio to slightly decline to 38% due to increased shipments to OEM customers.
Winmate will invest between US$1.55 million and US$1.86 million to set up a new plant to tap the economic recovery this year, transforming itself from a manufacturer of industrial LCD displays to a specialist provider of customized tablet PCs and wireless industrial PCs.
XAC has raised sales goal to US$31.05 million for the first half, up from earlier anticipated US$24.84 million. With sales of US$9.93 million in the first quarter of this year, the company will see second-quarter sales double to US$21.18 million.
The company plans to tap the Japanese and Australian markets with own-branded products next year, but hesitates to develop the China market due to fierce underselling.
