Spring Edition of HKTDC Hong Kong Int'l Lighting Fair 2015, to be held Apr. 6-9, expects over 1,000 exhibitors.

Around 1,100 exhibitors from 12 countries, including nine from Taiwan, will be promoting a variety of products at the Spring Edition of the HKTDC Hong Kong International Lighting Fair 2015, to be staged April 6-9 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center and in its seventh year, organized by the semi-official Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).

To offer global lighting buyers one-stop-shop for sourcing all finished products, parts and components, the event will display wide-ranging lighting products in different zones, including Hall of Aurora, LED & Green Lighting, Advertising Display Lighting and Avenue of Inspiration.

"World of Professional & Industrial Lighting" will make its debut at the 2015 fair, to host a broad range of products including stage lights, emergency and safety lights, architectural lighting, hospital lighting and other dedicated applications with LED options.

"Avenue of Chandeliers" remains a popular zone for buyers looking for new and exciting interpretations as well as classic chandeliers.

Nine Taiwanese exhibitors have signed up for 16 booths at the show with China Economic News Service (CENS), Taiwan's exclusive promoter of the show contracted by HKTDC. These exhibitors include Leading Optoelectronics Co., Ltd., Optimum Optoelectronics Corp., Greenwon Technology Co., Ltd., AcBel Polytech Inc., Jan Cheng Lighting Co., Ltd., Mustar Lighting Corp., Shenghui Lighting Co., Ltd., Far East Connection Co., Ltd., and Shining Blick Enterprise Co., Ltd.

The HKILF is also known for being a productive networking platform to offer opportunities of exchange between suppliers and international buyers. Speaking from personal experience at the 2014 event, Frank Kauer, Managing Director, SKN Global Limited, Hong Kong, the official worldwide licensee of Ford Lighting Solutions and Ford Home Solutions, says his company was a first-time exhibitor that was overwhelmed by inquiries about potential distributorship of the Ford Lighting Solutions range. “We cannot imagine a more appropriate opportunity to gain such exposure to prospective quality partners coming from all over the world.”

LED Tech Iberica SL of Spain sells all kinds of illumination products, LED in particular, through its franchises. Manager Robert Bonet Gallardo visited the show the first time in 2014 to look for new suppliers and different lighting products. He said his company identified four potential suppliers from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong for  supply of commercial lighting. After the fair, his company ordered US$60,000 worth of commercial lighting products.

The HKILF is also known as an informative industry event, offering seminars and buyer forums on the sideline to keep operators and entrepreneurs well informed of the market. This year, industry executives will gather again to share the latest market intelligence and opinions on the development of lighting technology and regulation at the "Asian Lighting Forum," to be co-organized by HKTDC and the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers.

The HKTDC again organizes the Hong Kong Lighting Design Competition, which is in its eighth year with the aim to enhance quality of the Hong Kong lighting industry by stoking friendly, productive competition that sparks new ideas. “Enlightenment” is the theme of the 2015 competition, to stress that light enables people to see hope within the ways light enriches lives.
