Taiwan's Auto Parts Makers Post Banner Nov. Revenue Amid Peak Season
2014/12/15 | By Steve ChuangAs drastic wintry conditions hit North America to drive demand for collision auto parts globally in Q4, some Taiwanese auto parts manufacturers have seen encouraging revenue growth in November.
For instance, Hota Industrial Mfg. Co., Ltd., supplier of transmission system parts, scored consolidated revenue of NT$379.3 million (US$12.64 million) in the month, surging 20.04% year-on-year (YoY) and the second-highest single-month record in the industry.
Benefiting from the steadily thriving new-car market especially in the U.S. and less so in Europe, the company posted NT$3.862 billion (US$128.73 million) in cumulative revenue for the first 11 months of this year, up 14.68% YoY.
Hota is optimistic about its prospects in Q4, partly because of the peak season for the industry, and partly because of its newly developed products, including components and parts for torque converter clutch systems, gear reducers for electric vehicles, motorcycle engines and transmission gears, all are ready for mass production to begin driving sales. Echoing the optimism, institutional investors generally believe that the company will see December revenue and Q4 both hit record highs.
Meanwhile Hiroca Holdings Ltd., engaged in cubic printing, spray painting, plating and mold injection of automotive interior trim and parts, posted consolidated revenue of NT$769 million (US$25.63 million) in the same month, up 6.6% month-on-month, adding to its cumulative consolidated revenue of NT$7.759 billion (US$258.63 million) for the first 11 months of this year, surging 14.76% YoY.
Hiroca attributes its robust revenue growth in November partly to Nissan's heavy promotion of Murano sedans, whose monthly output remained at 12,000 units October through November, and partly to banner new-car sales by two other customers, Toyota and Honda, in China.
To secure sustainable growth, Hiroca admits to aggressively scrambling for orders from American and European carmakers for interior trim and parts for volume-produced makes and models in China, to further reduce dependence on orders from Japanese carmakers. (SC)
