Taiwan International Interior Design Expo and AI-Driven Future Design Expo Unite Industry Leaders Ahead of July Opening

The pre-show press conference draws strong support from design associations as dual exhibitions opens to showcase the latest design trends at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center on July 9.

The Taiwan International Interior Design Expo 2026 and the AI-Driven Future Design Expo 2026 officially launched their pre-show campaign with a press conference held on July 2 at the Taipei Design Materials Center in Neihu. The event attracted chairpersons and representatives from Taiwan's six major metropolitan interior design associations, eight regional industry organizations, and related trade groups, reflecting broad industry support ahead of the exhibition's opening on July 9 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1.

Jointly organized by the National Association of Interior Design R.O.C., Economic Daily News, and HUNG KUAN SHIH YEH Co., Ltd., the Taiwan International Interior Design Expo has become one of Taiwan's premier annual events for the interior design and building materials industries. This year, the exhibition introduced the AI-Driven Future Design Expo 2026, guided by the Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI). Together, the dual exhibitions will feature approximately 1,400 booths, creating one of Taiwan's largest platforms for showcasing AI-driven digital transformation, innovative design applications, and ESG practices.

Speaking at the press conference, Chairman of National Association of Interior Design R.O.C., Liu I-Hsin, said this year's exhibition centers on two defining themes: artificial intelligence and sustainability. He noted that AI is no longer simply a technology trend but a key driver of industrial transformation. Through AI-powered design applications, digital tools, and intelligent workflows, designers can improve efficiency, optimize services, and strengthen industry competitiveness.

On sustainability, Chairman Liu emphasized that interior designers should balance aesthetics, functionality, health, and energy efficiency while also reducing resource consumption, adopting circular materials, and integrating environmentally responsible practices into every design project.

Economic Daily News Executive Vice President Tommy Ni highlighted that the Interior Design Expo was created specifically for Taiwan's interior design community and has steadily grown over the past four years into one of the country's most influential professional exhibitions. In line with Taiwan's "New Ten Major AI Infrastructure Projects" initiative, this year's event introduces the first AI Design Application Expo, showcasing how artificial intelligence is transforming design and related industries.

Among the exhibition highlights, the Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI) will present the achievements of Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs' industrial technology development program, featuring seven AI-powered design tools alongside successful industry applications. More than 30 companies and research organizations will participate in the "AI Across Industries" pavilion, demonstrating how generative AI is accelerating digital transformation across diverse sectors.

Another major theme this year is the growing trend toward compact living. HUNG KUAN SHIH YEH Chairman Chen Ming-Da noted that shrinking household sizes and rising housing prices have made space optimization an increasingly important design consideration. Visitors will be able to tour a fully furnished 9-ping (approximately 30 m²) model home, illustrating practical solutions for compact residential living. Meanwhile, the fourth-floor exhibition area will showcase AI applications across a wide range of industries, offering visitors insight into how artificial intelligence is reshaping future business models.

The Taiwan International Interior Design Expo 2026 and the AI-Driven Future Design Expo 2026 will be held from July 9–12 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, Hall 1 (1st and 4th floors), bringing together designers, technology providers, manufacturers, and buyers to explore the latest developments in AI-powered design, sustainable materials, and next-generation interior solutions.
