2026 Taiwan Robot Show Highlights Technology Applications and Global Partnerships

2026/08/24 | By CENS

The 2026 Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robot Show concluded on August 22 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center, highlighting Taiwan’s technological capabilities in robotics, smart automation and intelligent manufacturing. Through international forums, technical seminars, business matchmaking, smart factory tours and industry exchanges, the event helped extend technology showcases into real-world applications and overseas partnerships.

The International UAV Forum, held on August 19, focused on global strategies for drone commercialization and supply chain integration. Experts from Taiwan and the United States, including representatives from the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), Taiwan’s Research Institute for Democracy, Society and Emerging Technology (DSET), and Aerospace Industrial Development Corp. (AIDC), discussed how Taiwan could leverage its strengths in aerospace, machinery and information and communications technology to secure a key role in the global drone supply chain.

The Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robotics Association said international customers increasingly require strategic partners capable of integrating AI, edge computing and technologies from multiple sectors rather than merely supplying individual products. The association will continue helping Taiwanese manufacturers enter global markets while connecting overseas companies with technical and strategic partners in Taiwan.

The AI Robotics Technology Applications and International Standards Seminar on August 20 addressed humanoid robot development, safety and global standards. Experts emphasized that Taiwan should strengthen its capabilities in core hardware and advanced system integration rather than limit itself to short-term contract manufacturing opportunities.

They also noted the considerable potential of robotics in the fragmented service sector. However, as robots move into environments shared with people, both physical and psychological safety will become critical to successful deployment. Taiwanese suppliers seeking overseas business were advised to adopt international standards such as UL 3300 and implement hardware and software functional-safety diagnostics and third-party verification.

International cooperation was another major focus. At the 2026 Taiwan-Indonesia Industrial Collaboration Forum, Fusheng Co. and Indonesia’s PT Megatama Spring signed a memorandum of understanding to deepen cross-border industrial cooperation. Companies and industry groups from both countries also exchanged strategies for smart manufacturing upgrades and digital transformation.

The Taiwan Technology × Global Business Matchmaking Event brought together 24 manufacturers from Vietnam and Thailand and Taiwanese smart automation suppliers for 40 one-on-one meetings. Discussions covered AI-based quality inspection, automation solutions, labor-shortage technologies and smart factory transformation.

Meanwhile, the “Factory Live!” program took 22 Vietnamese and Thai companies to Syntec Technology’s smart factory, where participants observed intelligent production lines, connected equipment, production management systems, factory AI and digital management applications.

Other activities included a smart robotics technology matchmaking session focusing on technology integration, commercial applications and investment opportunities in southern Taiwan, as well as Taiwan-Japan exchanges, industry trend briefings, talent matchmaking and startup presentations. Together, these activities demonstrated Taiwan’s ability to integrate technologies across sectors while strengthening its position as an international partner in robotics and smart manufacturing.
