Taiwan’s Hardware and Fastener Industry Accelerates Global Expansion, Showcasing Quality and Integrated Manufacturing
2026/10/01 | By Sherry ChenAmid intensifying price competition from China, shifting global demand, and an estimated 30% decline in Taiwan’s fastener export volume this year, Taiwanese hardware and fastener manufacturers are accelerating overseas expansion. To cement their position in an increasingly competitive global market, the sector is upgrading technology, moving into higher-value products and cross-sector integration.
Industry leaders noted that with manufacturing expertise, flexible production, and a comprehensive supply chain, Taiwan is capable of providing international buyers with reliable, customized products with stable lead times.

In October, the Taiwan Industrial Fasteners Institute will lead 106 fastener companies to Phoenix, Arizona, to participate in the International Fastener Expo (IFE). A dedicated Taiwan Pavilion will showcase the industry’s vertically integrated manufacturing, from raw materials, forming, heat treatment, surface finishing, and secondary processing. The delegation will also organize business matchmaking, industry forums, and international networking events. The institute is expected to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the National Fastener Distributors Association (NFDA), further strengthening cooperation in supply chains, buyer-supplier matching, and market intelligence exchange.
Central Taiwan, meanwhile, has emerged as a dense sourcing base for international buyers, supported by its concentration of hardware manufacturers and precision manufacturers. The TiTE x IHT Taiwan International Hardware Tool Exhibition & Hardware Industry Show, taking place October 20 to 22, will bring together around 450 exhibitors across more than 1,000 booths, covering eight major sectors, including tools and accessories, metalworking, automotive repair and electric vehicles, fasteners, and digital manufacturing.

Running alongside the event, Taiwan Industry Week (TIW) 2026 will bring together companies from the hardware, metal materials, precision machining, occupational safety, electromechanical engineering, and refrigeration and air-conditioning sectors. The event is expected to attract professional buyers from more than 100 countries.
The Central Taiwan supply chain connects the dense manufacturing ecosystem from machining, forging, heat treatment, and surface finishing to assembly. The streamlined supply chain can be connected within roughly 20 minutes. This allows international buyers to verify specifications at the exhibition before visiting nearby factories to inspect production lines, quality control, and delivery schedules, potentially shortening purchasing decisions.
Through overseas trade shows, international business matchmaking, and factory visits, Taiwan’s hardware and fastener industry is expanding its global reach as a reliable supply chain partner leveraging its quality, integrated manufacturing, and responsive service.
Economic Daily News / CENS will also support the industry’s international outreach. At IFE in the U.S., CENS will publish and distribute "Taiwan Hardware Guide." Meanwhile, at domestic events, CENS will be available at TIW Booth P2211 and TiTE x IHT Booth G500, distributing the Taiwan Hand Tools Publication and Taiwan Hardware Guide to help international buyers connect with selected Taiwanese suppliers for sourcing opportunities.
