In spite of difficult political situation, the exhibition attendance showed a 15% increase comparing to the previous year, and reached 14,000 visits. MITEX is a modern business platform for showcasing new tools and equipment, and at the same time an excellent place for establishing new business contacts and strengthening existing partnerships. Every MITEX stand was distinct, and the showcased products were an example of the latest technologies implementation. Stanley Black & Decker, Interskol, Metabo, Sparky Professional, LIT Trading, Northwestern TD (220 Volt), Hyundai Power Products, Sturm, TMKnn, Prorab, Karcher, Kalibr 2001, Wald, DWT, FIT, Centre of Tool Trading, Anchor, Pride TFG, VneshTechKontrakt were among MITEX 2014 exhibitors. The companies from Germany, Korea, China, and Taiwan demonstrated their innovative tool products and technology at collective national expositions. “Leading German tool manufacturers take part in MITEX for the fourth year in a row. We witness a great demand for our products among Russian professionals and private users, and we will definitely come here again next year.” Rainer Langelьddecke, executive director of Association of German Tool Manufacturers (FWI) Business programme On 12 November the RATPE Association hosted a Conference on “Russian Market of Power Tools and Labour Saving Devices: Present State and Prospects”. The Conference visitors actively participated in the discussion of the current situation in technical regulations and standardization of power tools, as well as the future market trends through the lens of the geopolitical and economic situation. On the first exhibition day “Instrymenty” magazine (Potrebitel Publishing House) held a Conference on “Abrasive tools: reasons and prospects for import substitution”. Representatives of 220 Volt, Hilti, Luga Abrasive Plant, ISMA, and Metadinea answered the questions if such products were popular in Russia and whether the domestic industry was able to satisfy the growing demand. Master classes and presentations The HITACHI training seminars have been organized within MITEX for several years. Michel Pascal, representative of CARAT plant spoke about the peculiarities of manufacturing and sales of diamond cutting blades, and the engineers from Japan demonstrated new innovative electric and petrol-powered tools. New woodworking tools and equipment were very popular among MITEX trade visitors. Every exhibition day WOOD-Master magazine held diverse master classes and presentations dedicated to the latest technological developments in this field. The visitors had an opportunity to try tools in work, take part in exciting contests and get wooden crafts. Premier Coatings hosted a series of workshops on wood waxing, decoration and restoration, working with oils and gilding. Students Programme The annual Students Programme has been specially designed for young specialists and future industry experts. During four days the exhibition was visited by more than 10 specially organized student groups of Russian technical universities and colleges. The future industry experts attended training seminars and practical master classes of the world famous industry leaders, and worked with diverse tools at the exhibitor stands.
