Taipei, Sept. 15, 2008 (CENS)--The Taiwan-based High Tech Computer Corp. (HTC), a world-caliber supplier of own-brand handsets, forecasts its annual revenue to smoothly hit a historical high of NT$150 billion for 2008, based on a strong revenue growth of over 30% realized in the past eight months of this year, according to Cheng Hui-ming, HTC's chief financial executive.

Thanks to its hot-selling HTC series smartphones, HTC is expected to post aggregate revenue of NT$105.3 billion for the first three quarters of this year, and score revenue NT$48.8 billion in the fourth quarter, thus achieving annual revenue of about 154 billion for entire the year, sharply up from NT$118.6 billion posted last year.

Cheng indicated that launch of Apple's iPhone has yet to affect HTC's sales of own-brand smartphones. At the moment, the brand has successfully promoted its handsets in over 50 countries of the world, including Japan and Korea, with around 70 telecom companies contracted to adopt its products. Furthermore, with debut of new HTC Diamond series, the brand is expected to boost its global market shares in the second half of the year.

Cheng attributed HTC's success partly to advanced technology and partly to positive corporate cultures. Many years of progress has enhanced added-value of the brand and effectively helped the firm evolve from an ODM (original design manufacturer) in the sector. She added that HTC will move to focus on development of software and application services to keep the brand competitive in the global market for brand handsets in the future.
