Taiwan's Cheng Shin Becomes OE Tire Supplier to Nissan

Taipei, Jan.27, 2011 (CENS)--Cheng Shin Rubber Industry Co., Ltd., a leading maker of car tires in Taiwan, recently announced having entered the Japanese Nissan Motor's global procurement platform, enabling it to offer OEM (original equipment manufacturer) tires to Japanese carmakers.

As result, Cheng Shin is expected to expand sales to Nissan this year. Initially, the company will begin providing tires to help Nissan roll out “New March” cars produced in Thailand, which will be resold in Japan, enabling Cheng Shin to build brand recognition in that market.

Aiming to expand cooperation with Nissan, Cheng Shin will also provide spare tires for the Japanese firm to distribute in North America.

To expand sales worldwide, Cheng Shin has recently set up representative offices in Dubai, Brazil, Panama and India. Over the past few years, the company has achieved outstanding sales in China, India, Brazil, the Middle East and Africa; while its subsidiary in China has launched OEM cooperation with General Motor, Ford, Daimler-Chrysler and Japanese automakers.
