TAITRA Schedules 5 More Exhibitions for 2014
2014/01/24 | By Judy LiTaiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), a government-backed trade promoter, announced that it will organize five more new international exhibitions on the island this year to help promote products as yachts, items for kids, petrochemicals & related products, sewage treatment facilities, creative cultural products, and water purification equipment, etc.
Last year TAITRA organized 230 overseas trade-promotional groups and activities and invited 83,108 foreign buyers to Taiwan. Moreover, to reinforce global strength, it established seven new footholds in Southeast Asia and plans to add more overseas offices this year, to be located mainly in Cambodia, Pakistan, and the second-tier and third-tier cities in inland Chinese provinces.
TAITRA Chairman C. K. Wang is optimistic about global economies this year and announced more efforts toward helping domestic manufacturers further explore global markets, and that TAITRA will continue to organize global and regional trade talks to bridge Taiwanese manufacturers and foreign buyers, and will set up a potential overseas market index as reference for domestic manufacturers based on purchasing power, consumer pool, trading freedom, payment risk, etc.
Wang emphasizes that TAITRA will also help promote Taiwan's service industry and will organize service trade promotional groups to Indonesia, Singapore and the Philippines this year.
In addition, TAITRA recently cooperated with Ministry of Health and Welfare to help set up five international healthcare centers in Taiwan's four international airports, aiming to promote to foreigners healthcare facilities and sightseeing. (JL)
