Everlight, Lite-On and Lextar Introduce New LED Lighting Products

Everlight Electronics Co., Ltd., Lite-On Technology Corp., and Lextar Electronics Co., Ltd. have all announced plans to boost sales of LED lighting to account for 40% of their total revenue for this year, for which all have recently introduced new products.

Packager Lite-On has released an entire series of next-generation LED emitters for indoor and outdoor commercial lights, including a chip scale package (CSP) that is supposedly the industry's smallest with the largest illuminating area, a high-power chip-on-board (COB) flip-chip package featuring chip matrix and lead-free frame technologies, and a high-voltage package featuring high color rendering.

Lite-On executives said the company had secured contracts from several international lighting big names for its new packages.

Lextar, an integrated manufacturer of epitaxy wafer, chip-making, packaging, and modules in-house, has announced a package-free white emitter for 50W replacement LED spotlight, an LED bulb for chandelier, and an omni-directional LED light tube.

Lextar executives said the company had landed orders from some American buyers for the chandelier bulb, and that the company's capacity utilization had exceeded 80% in March thanks to increased orders.

Everlight, currently the world's No.1 LED packager by production capacity, has introduced lighting fixtures under its brand  “ZENARO” in Europe. The company has designated setting up distribution channels in Europe a top priority for this year after acquiring a German LED-luminaire facility, WOFI.

Everlight executives pointed out that the company's revenue had begun climbing in March, when revenue surged 20% from a month earlier.

Industry executives estimate these companies' new products to begin generating revenue in the second quarter of the year. (KL)
