Worm Gear Winches
Disengage the drum clutch. Adjustment is made by turning the brake adjustment nut in the center of the safety brake housing counter-clockwise to tighten the brake or clockwise to loosen it. Some winch models are equipped with an adjusting screw lock-plate on the end of the brake housing which is locked into place with two small cap screws. These cap screws must be removed before the brake can be adjusted.
