Diamond Sparkles in Auto EPS Molding Machines

Diamond Machinery Development Co., Ltd. Is one of Taiwan's major professional manufacturers of plastics-processing machines, featuring a top-flight in-house research and development department.

Its headquarters is in the city of Taipei, in northern Taiwan, and its factory, occupying a space of 6,000 square meters, is in Shenzhen in Guangdong province, mainland China. Management says the firm develops EPS (extended polystyrene) molding machines in-house, and is now speeding up the pace of R&D aiming to improve the power-control systems of its units to create added value for its buyers.

The company's major product lines include fully automatic EPS molding machines, pre-expanders, and molders. All carry the firm's own 'Diamond' brand. The company also welcomes orders on an original equipment/design manufacturer basis.

To ensure the quality of its products, Diamond insists that all the major components used in its products are made in such industrially advanced nations as Japan, the United States, and Italy. The result is, says management, a much lower breakdown rate than units made by rivals.

Unit prices range from US$20,000 to US$50,000. The company says it is now making all-out efforts to develop high-added-value units targeted at the high end of the market in the industrially advanced nations.

Over the past several years the company has focused on developing its exports. Its major destinations are mainland China, Southeast Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

The company boasts it attained US$3 million in turnover last year, up 20% from the year earlier. Much higher sales growth is expected this year because of the increased demand for the EPS molding machines from some major customers overseas. The company believes the world demand for EPS molding machinery is increasing because of the popularity of the EPS packaging.

Diamond notes it has contracted several sales agents in the Middle East and Eastern Europe who can help customers set up whole-plant equipment in the EPS molding line. These overseas sales agents can provide prompt after-sale services to the customers, in addition to providing technical guidance.
