Taipei, Dec. 12, 2003 (CENS)--Hon Hai Precision Ind. Co., Taiwan's leading personal computer (PC) contract manufacturer, netted revenue of NT$35.4 billion (US$1.04 billion at US$1 = NT$34) in November, up 26% from the same month of 2002. The revenue was at the third highest monthly level ever recorded.

In the first 11 months of the year Hon Hai's revenue accumulated to NT$292.6 billion (US$8.61 billion), for a sharp growth of 35.47% over the same period of last year. The revenue, outstripping its strong rival Quanta Computer Inc.'s NT$264.9 billion (US$7.79 billion), kept the company the largest private manufacturer on the island.

Insiders projected earlier that Hon Hai would score increasing revenue month by month in the last quarter, but the company's revenue in November suffered a slight drop from a month earlier. As the shipment peak for PCs is already over for the year, some forecast the company's revenue for this month would keep declining. Accordingly, the insiders re-estimated Hon Hai's revenue for the full year to drop to NT$320 billion (US$9.4 billion) from the earlier estimate of NT$350 billion (US$10.29 billion).

Although Quanta's revenue in November registered the 13th consecutive monthly increase, Hon Hai's revenue for the month still advanced the former by NT$3.8 billion (US$111.76 million). From January to November, Hon Hai's accumulating revenue outstripped Quanta by a total of NT$27.7 billion (US$814.7 million).
