A-TEAM Bicycle Alliance Elects New Chairman

Taipei, Aug. 1, 2008 (CENS)--Michael Tseng, president of Merida Industry Co., Ltd. was elected the new chairman of the A-TEAM high-end bicycle alliance in Taiwan.

Charles Wu, president of KMC Chain Industrial Co., Ltd. And Hank Kao, SRAM Asia General Manager, were elected as new vice chairmen of the alliance.

According to A-TEAM, former A-TEAM chairman Anthony Lo's three-year term will soon end. New chairman Tseng is expected to soon call on all team members to listen to opinions for making the MBO (management by objectives) for his new term.

A-TEAM was set up in 2003 with initial 13 members (including the top-two assembled-bicycle maker Giant Manufacturing Co., Ltd. And Merida Industry Co., Ltd. As well as a group of high-level, innovative parts suppliers). The industrial alliance seeks to achieve common a goal to further promote the more vivid development of local bicycle industry and enhance the global competitiveness and leading position as well.

With notable effort during his two continuous terms over the past six years, Lo has successfully helped all members and, more importantly, the bicycle industry in Taiwan, play an increasingly vital role in the international market, as well as turn the island into the world's most important supply base of high-end bicycles.

All A-TEAM members highly praised Lo's long-term contribution to the alliance, A-TEAM said. Lo stressed that he would continue to focus on affairs of the team and share his company's resources with members.
