Kentfa to Team With Big Players to Build E-bikes and E-scooters

Taipei, Oct. 12, 2009 (CENS)--Kentfa Advanced Technology Corp., a developer and maker of electric bicycles and scooters, recently announced that several industrial conglomerates are interested to form partnerships.

Huang Chih-shu, Kentfa's chairman and chairman of Taiwan Electric Scooter Industry Development Association, pointed out that Cheng Uei (electronic components), Tatung (information technology and electrical-machinery), and Ideal (bicycle) groups would cooperate with his company to jointly tap the e-bike and e-scooter market.

According to Huang, Cheng Uei Precision Industry Co., Ltd., a leading connector maker, has expressed its willingness to acquire a 10% stake in Kentfa, while Cheng Uei chairman T.C. Kuo is expected to take the helm as Kentfa's chairman soon.

Huang also added that Tatung Group chairman W.S. Lin also led a delegation to visit Kentfa to talk about partnership. Kentfa's ISUDA own-brand e-bike and -scooter products are expected to be part of Tatung's "green industry plan" business plans, he added.

The chairman added that the ISUDA-brand one-second electric folding bikes, e-bikes, e-scooters etc. would be sold via Tatung's 3C chain-stores in Taiwan.

In addition, Huang said that Ideal Bike Corp., the top-three assembled-bicycle maker in Taiwan, is very interested in the ISUDA one-second electric folding bike and plans to launch the model under the Italian brand Padova.
