Taipei, Nov. 26, 2009 (CENS)--The Taiwan-based Sunrex Technology Corp., the largest supplier of keypads for notebook PCs, has ventured into production of notebook PC covers finished through IMR (in-mold roller) coating technology, aiming to maintain a 30% revenue growth in 2010, according to H.L. Tsai, chairman of the firm.

Well experienced in applying IMR process to finish its keypads after years of development of the coating technology, Tsai said, the firm has decided to diversify production into IMR-treated notebook PC covers. The diversification will also help to reinforce the firm's cooperation with its clients of PC brands and manufacturers.

Tsai indicated that the firm has moved to procure large-sized plastic injection molding machines and is scheduled to start mass production of notebook PC covers in the first quarter of next year, which will infuse a strong growth momentum into business operation in the year.

Succeeding in tapping notebook PC booms, Sunrex has scored aggregate combined revenue of NT$10.732 billion (US$330.21 million at US$1: NT$32.5) in the first 10 months of this year, sharply up 29% from a year earlier, and pretax EPS (earnings per share) of NT$2.7 (US$0.083). With the aforementioned new product line added to its portfolio, the firm is expected to enjoy a 30% revenue growth in 2010, especially when the global sales of notebook PCs is estimated to see the same growth rate.

Sunrex has been solely dedicated to keypads for notebook PCs and projects its shipment of the products to reach 60 million units this year, representing an increase of 30% over last year. Based on global sales of 150 million notebook PCs, the firm is very likely to achieve a global market share of 40% this year, up four percentage points from 36% posted last year.
