Taipei, Dec. 21, 2009 (CENS)--On December 18, Sandmartin International Holdings Limited, which is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, began public trading on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) in the form of Taiwan depository receipt (TDR) at the launch price of NT$8 per share.

Poised as Taiwan's exclusive integrated manufacturer of satellite equipment, Sandmartin was founded by Eric Hung in 1987 in Taiwan. In the initial stage of its inception, the firm focused on the production of cable TV connectors with production equipment of only three CNC (computerized numerically controlled) lathes.

With years of development, the company has got involved in the manufacture and distribution of satellite TV reception products. The company has become one of the world's top-three producers of satellite TVs by offering an extensive and sought-after portfolio of products. Although satellite TV reception systems are highly complex, their essential components are covered in the company's core product range. Based on the specific requirements of its customers, the company designs and manufactures these components in different models with various specifications.

At present, Sandmartin's major product range includes set-top boxes, digital TV reception systems, cables, cable assemblies, fiber optics, networking equipment, tools, audio connectors, video connectors, and so on.

The convergence of information and entertainment is very much taken for granted. One of the catalysts of this phenomenon is the nascent digital TV industry. New trends in broadcasting technology such as the shift from analogue to digital telecommunications signals have markedly improved image quality and reliability. And an increasing number of consumers around the world are flocking to take advantage of digital TV.

Company president Eric Hung noted his company is actively taking advantage of the rocketing global demand. "Our R&D capabilities, efficient vertical integration and extensive distribution networks have given us an edge over many of our competitors in the field," Hung said. "Our aim is to become a frontrunner in this dynamic industry, whose complete range of quality products serve today's demand for satellite receptivity, wireless applicability and optical connectivity.
