CMC's domestic automobile sales also reported good performance. According to the latest statistics of new-car sales in Taiwan, the company enjoyed a 43.3% year-on-year (YoY) shipment increase in the first half of March, the highest among local counterparts.

The automaker claimed that it has successfully developed LiFePO4 lithium-ion battery-powered e-scooters, which is being displayed at the on-going 2010 Taipei International Cycle Show and will be also showcased in the coming Taiwan International Motor Cycle Show in mid-April.

CMC pointed out that it would market its e-scooter products with the "e-moving" own-brand in Taiwan and the "greentrans" nameplate in the international market.

The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) of Taiwan is scheduled to promulgate a subsidy program to qualified e-scooter products sold on the island by May. With the subsidy offered by the government, CMC said, the retail pricing of e-moving e-scooter models is expected to be compressed within NT$40,000 (US$1,230 at US$1: NT$32.5).
