Taipei, April 13, 2006 (CENS)--Asia's first and only automotive electronics fair, the 2006 Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show (AutoTronics Taipei 2006) will be held on Apr. 17-20 at the Exhibition Hall of the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) in Taiwan.

The chief organizers of the annual show are the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA). Co-organizers include the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), the Taiwan Transportation Vehicle Manufacturers' Association (TTVMA), and the Automotive Research & Testing Center (ARTC).

AutoTronics Taipei will be the first, best, and most professional fair of its kind in Asia, TAITRA emphasizes. The overall show will be divided into a number of theme areas, including sections for Telematics/Drive Information Systems, Automobile Body Electrical Systems, Automobile Safety Systems, Automobile Security Systems, Engine Management Systems, Power Train Systems, Brake Control Systems, Suspension and Chassis Systems, Automobile Electronic Products, and Automobile Electronic Components and Parts.

Hundreds of major players in related fields have promised to participate in the show as exhibitors, including E-Lead Electronic Co., Hon Hai Group, Mobiletron Electronics Co., Ltd., and Stark Technology Inc.; while those considering participation include BenQ, Yulon Motor, and Mio Technology.

In conjunction with the AutoTronics show, TAITRA will also organize the 2006 Taipei International Automotive Electronics Forum and Procurement Meetings. The forum will invite industry experts and top decision-makers from five major carmakers and tier-one auto-parts suppliers in the U.S., Japan, and Europe to conduct in-depth discussions on major themes such as automotive multimedia entertainment, electronic navigation, and other major applications.

TAITRA notes that it hosted the first Taiwan Automotive International Forum & Exhibition (TAIFE) in October last year. Attending that meeting were ranking officials of some of the world's major automakers and auto-parts suppliers, including BMW, Delphi, Robert Bosch, Motorola Automotive, and Fiat, as well as representatives of leading information and communication technology (ICT) hardware manufacturers and automotive semiconductor makers, including Cisco, Ericsson, SCEI, Namco, and OTC Wireless. The first TAIFE also attracted representatives from more than 400 local companies to join the discussions and attend lectures on market trends and product planning for the next five to 10 years.

TAITRA said that it has invited the procurement representatives of more than 100 foreign companies to AutoTronics Taipei 2006, including Agrale of Brazil, Brazil Delphi, Malaysia Ford, Fiat of Italy, Honda of Japan, Magna of U.S., Halfords of the U.K., Toshiba of Japan, SEB of France, InterTAN of Canada, and Jumbo of U.A.E.

The 2006 AutoTronics show will be held simultaneously with the DigiTronics Taipei 2006 show. In 2007, AutoTronics will be integrated into the world-famous Taipei International Auto/Motorcycle Parts & Accessories Show (AMPA Taipei) at TWTC, TAITRA said.
