Taipei, April 18, 2006 (CENS)-- Trend Micro Inc., a Taiwan-based leader in network-virus protection and Internet content security solutions for the enterprises, has signed an agreement with Microsoft of the United States to continue offering anti-virus services to MSN Hotmail.

In 2004, Trend Micro replaced competitor McAfee as MSN Hotmail's anti-virus partner and then won similar contract from China's SinaNet. Currently, Micro Trend provides anti-virus services to over 400 million global e-mail users.

Steve Chang, founder and CEO of Trend Micro, said that his company would also tie up with Cisco Systems Inc. of the U.S. to more aggressively tap the family anti-virus market and further expand Micro Trend's product lines. Cisco is the leading supplier of networking equipment and network management for the Internet.

In its agreement signed with Microsoft, Trend Micro will provide both virus-scan and –detection services to MSN Hotmail users during the e-mail sending and receiving processes.

Trend Micro recently also cooperated with some online game companies to jointly market its Anti-Spyware 3.0 software. The company aims to upgrade the ratio of online sales of such anti-spyware product to 80%.
