Benison & Co., Ltd., founded in 1962, is one of Taiwan's leading manufacturers of shrink packaging machinery and related materials. Since its establishment, the company has been striving to develop innovative products gain a greater presence in the world market.

The company boasts it is Taiwan's largest supplier of PVC/PP/PE (polyvinyl chloride/polypropylene/polyethylene) heat-shrinkable films and machines for making such materials, accounting for at least half of Taiwan's overall output, according to company general manager Benker Liao.

At present, Benison is striving to develop green packaging materials that are recyclable, and bio-degradable. All the green materials can be used as composts. In the area of packaging machinery, the company is focusing on the development of the machines that can help produce light and thin packaging materials.

Benison has targeted several potential markets outside Taiwan and mainland China, but Liao declines to identify the markets lest the firm's domestic rivals should follow suit. Undercutting threats from newcomers in its existing markets in another reason driving the firm to diversify into new territory.

As part of its international marketing strategy, the company will not promote its “Benison” brand name in markets where it supplies machines on an OEM/ODM (original equipment/design manufacturer) basis. Rather, it will focus its brand sales in Taiwan and emerging economies like mainland China and Southeast Asian nations.

Benison is a contract supplier to several Japanese companies, and it is now in talks with some big players over OEM supply deals. Benison's products are mainly designed to make films ranging in width from 6mm to 1,000mm for the wrapping/packaging of food, medication, electronic equipment, hardware, and toys, as well as other applications.
