CENS Continues Promoting Trade Magazines Globally in November

CENS continued its mission by attending global trade fairs in November to promote export-oriented magazines and help Taiwanese suppliers build global presence, taking part in more than 12 international trade shows, including AAPEX Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo, EICMA—Motorcycle, Automechanika Argentina 2010, KOAA—Korea Autoparts & Accessories Show, and OTOMOTIV; K Trade Fair, Lighting Middle East, Index Dubai, Interlight Moscow, METS, METALEX, and The Big 5 Exhibition Dubai.

K Trade Fair
Held in Dusseldorf, Germany, the K Trade Fair, held Oct. 27-Nov. 3, is one of world's leading plastics and rubber material shows, displaying mainly raw petrochemical materials, auxiliaries, semi-finished products, technical parts, reinforced plastics and rubber; as well as machinery and equipment for the plastics and rubber industries and related services.

Despite the lingering downturn, some 3,000 exhibitors took part to fully occupy all 19 available halls, including suppliers from Germany, Italy, Austria, Switzerland and the United States as well as Asian manufacturers from China, Taiwan and India.

CENS circulated its popular trade magazines, including Taiwan Industrial Suppliers (TIS), Guidebook to Taiwan Hand Tools, Design & Innovation in Taiwan (DIT) and Taiwan Machinery.

Light Middle East
Light Middle East is an important international trade fair in the Middle East for urban, architectural and retail lighting solutions, usually attracting manufacturers, purchasing managers, distributors, home decorators and designers from all over.

Held Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Center, the event covered architectural lighting, decorative lighting, compact & normal fluorescent lamps, outdoor lighting, theatrical lighting, marine lighting, incandescent & halogen lamps, LEDs, lighting electronics, lighting controls & solutions, ballasts, etc.

Index Dubai
Index Dubai is regarded as the Middle East's platform for innovative, cost effective solutions and cutting-edge interior design ideas, being a one-stop-shop for interior designers, architects, contractors, consultants, property & real estate developers, contract furnishers, fit-out contractors, retail & wholesale buyers and other industry professionals.

Held Nov. 8-11 at the Dubai World Trade Center, the event drew over 1,000 exhibitors from nearly 50 countries, including 20 national pavilions and many leading international brands.

The 20th Index 2010 presented an eclectic mix of products and the very latest interior design solutions, attracting 25,014 visitors, of which 17,401 were trade visitors and 843 key buyers.

The CENS booth found particular interest towards its CENS Furniture, CENS Lighting and Taiwan Industrial Suppliers magazines.

Interlight Moscow
Since its inception in 1995 Interlight Moscow has developed into the leading trade fair and most important networking platform for the lighting industry in Russia and the CIS states.

Interlight Moscow 2010, held Nov. 9-12 at the Expocenter Fairgrounds in Moscow, drew 430 exhibitors from 25 countries and 26,000 visitors mainly from Russia and the CIS states. “The trade fair and the market are both growing significantly as the figures speak for themselves,” says Bernd D. Fichtner, organizer of the fair.

“The exhibitors confirmed to us that the quantity and the quality of the visitors have increased significantly (up 31.7% compared to 2009 in the number of visitors),” Fichtner continues. “But what really counts is that the visitors are coming with orders.”

In recent years the topics of energy efficiency and LED have been driving innovation in the lighting industry, with the LED Forum Moscow taking place annually at Interlight Moscow. In 2010 the LED plenary sessions and workshops held by sponsors drew more than 200 top decision-makers from the Russian LED sector to obtain the latest industry information.

METS
The SuperYacht Pavilion (SYP) is the only truly international business-to-business exhibition for suppliers of products and services for the large luxury yacht industry, set within the environment of METS—the world's No. 1 marine equipment trade show.

Held Nov. 16-18 in Amsterdam, METS was a bright finale to an economically difficult year with a modest rise in attendance over that in 2009 and a record number of 1,320 exhibitors.

“The show was fresh and lively with a strong sense of optimism,” said METS senior product manager Irene Dros. “There was a definite mood amongst exhibitors that corners were being turned and that progress was firmly back on the agenda.”

“A modest but nonetheless noticeable rise in attendance—18,861 visits for 2010 from 94 countries versus 18,454 in 2009—endorsed the significance international visitors place in attending METS/SYP,” she added.

METS welcomed a record number of 261 first-time exhibitors. The show reinforced its pole position as the leading international business platform for super yacht professionals with a steady flow of visitors to meet the industry's essential suppliers.

“METS is certainly the place to be if you are new to the market,” said Mattias Brundell, general agent for Hollins Industries International, Inc., of Canada.

Larry Grundtner, president of the American company Marine Tech Products, was equally delighted with the visitor mix. “We could not have made so many contacts in a short period of time without the help of METS.”

CENS sent a senior sales representative to promote publications at the show, with Marine Equipment Special, CENS Hardware, Design & Innovation in Taiwan, and Taiwan Industrial Suppliers capturing considerable attention.

METALEX
METALEX is ASEAN's (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) largest international machine tools and metalworking technologies trade exhibition and conference, bringing sellers in direct contact with regional industrial professionals and valuable global buyers.

METALEX 2010, held Nov. 24-27 in Bangkok, attracted 2,700 exhibitors including 11 international pavilions and more than 66,000 visitors from Thailand and other countries.

Under the theme of “Machining Business to its Best,” the show closed its 24th edition with tremendous success. Many providers of innovative technologies and products reported signing significant orders on-the-spot worth millions of dollars within only four show days.

CENS sent a local representative to promote magazines at the event, with Taiwan Machinery, Guidebook to Taiwan Hand Tools, and Taiwan Industrial Suppliers attracting ample attention.

The Big 5 Exhibition Dubai
The Big 5 Exhibition Dubai is a leading exhibition dedicated to plant, construction vehicles, machinery and equipment in the Middle East and regarded as the ideal platform to showcase new products.

“Since Dubai is the hub of the region the Big 5 positions itself as a positive initiative for the region's construction industry. Our outlook for the industry is optimistic for 2011 and further into the future,” said Khaled Soliman, Group CEO of Galadari Brothers Co. LLC.

The Gulf region, located between Europe and the Indian sub-continent, remains s strategically important area of the world with over 65% of the world's oil reserves. The main trading block in the region is the Gulf Coorporation Council (GCC) comprising Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar.

Held Nov. 22-25 in Dubai, the event achieved optimistic prospect for exhibitors with reportedly over US$23 billion in construction contracts ready to be awarded in the UAE market.

Andy White, event director of the Big 5, said that research shows steady optimism for the industry and the UAE and the region generally have seen a real buzz leading up to the 2010 event.

As the largest event of its kind for the building and construction industry in the Middle East, the Big 5 provides an unrivalled platform for architects, engineers, contractors and developers from the public and private sectors to network, source and specify the latest building and construction products and services.

CENS sent a local representative to promote its magazines at the event, including Taiwan Machinery, CENS Furniture, CENS Lighting, CENS Hardware, Guidebook to Taiwan Hand Tools, Design & Innovation in Taiwan, and Taiwan Industrial Suppliers.

In addition, CENS promoted its auto products sourcing magazines, particularly Taiwan Transportation Equipment Guide (TTG), China Transportation Equipment Guide (CTG) and Taiwan Motorcycle & Parts Guide (TMG) at the following five international auto and motorcycle shows.

AAPEX
Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) is the annual business-to-business trade show representing the global automotive aftermarket and displays almost every product in the automotive aftermarket.

AAPEX 2010, held Nov. 2-4 in Las Vegas, drew over 2,000 exhibitors from around the world occupying over 4,000 booths, displaying suspension and front-end products, engines, engine parts, fabricators, paint & body products, as well as heat transfer and mobile air conditioning products & parts.

AAPEX organizers made extensive enhancements to its New Packaging Showcase for 2010, building on a partnership between the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) and the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IOPP) and Packaging Machinery Manufacturers Institute (PMMI).

EICMA
EICMA is a globally leading motorcycle show held annual in Italy, with the 2010 edition, held Nov. 2-7 in Milan, attracting an impressive 500,000 visitors.

The show clearly reflected exhibitors' huge investments, achieving to wow many spectators. Over 1,000 exhibitors displayed a record number of new products, with nearly 40 being first timers.

The six-day show treated visitors to an all-round enjoyable experience with plenty of spectacular motorbikes as well as the MotoLive competition and many side events attended by several sport and show-business personalities.

Automechanika Argentina 2010
Automechanika Argentina reaffirmed itself as an excellent platform by presenting new products and services in 2010, which took place Nov. 17-20 in Buenos Aires.

The sixth edition of the fair attracted 39,896 visitors from 44 countries, exceeding organizers' expectations; while also notable is that since 2000, Automechanika Argentina has grown 140% in number of exhibitors, with the number of foreign companies also having increased.

This year 542 exhibitors was registered, with 226 being foreign participants from 23 countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama, Senegal, Spain, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, the United States, and Uruguay.

Fabio Rozenblum, president of the Association of Argentine Component Manufacturers, expressed pride in how Automechanika Argentina has grown into an important spare part fair globally.

KOAA
Korea Autoparts & Accessories Show (KOAA) is the biggest automotive-related exhibition in South Korea. Held Nov. 18-20 in Seoul, KOAA attracted 362 exhibitors, including 52 companies, and 28,567 visitors from 73 countries, becoming the most successful to date.

The organizers of the show arranged one-on-one business meetings between exhibitors and buyers, with purchasing representatives from Ford, Audi-Volkswagen, PSA, Daimler, Magna, TRW, Aisin, etc. who created an estimated business potential of approximately US$620 million.

KOAA has been developing, both quantitatively as well as qualitatively since its first exhibition in 2004, and is acknowledged as an important venue to network and find potential partners for exhibitors and visitors in the auto-parts and related industries.

OTOMOTIV
OTOMOTIV has in recent years obviously helped to foster the auto industry in Turkey. The 2010 exhibition, organized by Istanbul Trade Fairs and held Nov. 25-28 at the CNR Espo Center in Istanbul, saw a 25% annual rise to 40,000 visitors, with 3,500 coming from abroad.

OTOMOTIV has gained a lot more importance to introduce innovations to new markets amid the global downturn. The 2010 event contributed to the recovery of the sector driven by regional incentives, with the success of the exhibition signaling the economic recovery and a rosy outlook for the auto industry in Turkey.

The four-day event drew more than 600 automotive related companies from Turkey, Europe and the surrounding countries spread across 20,000 square meters. In addition to local exhibitors, foreign ones came mainly from Germany, England, Italy, Spain, China, India, Bulgaria, Taiwan, Tunisia, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Thailand, Malaysia and Iran.
