Taipei, March 24, 2011 (CENS)--With newly launched smartphones proving popular worldwide, High Tech Computer Corp. (HTC), a Taiwan-based globally leading smartphone vendor, is likely to embrace a rosy year in 2011.

The firm has launched several new smartphones, including its Incredible S and Thunderbolt, in different countries of the world, and increasingly focused promotion on 4G models to fuel its sales revenue so far this year. Following years of dedication, the firm has built a full line of smartphones ranging from low to high end, which is expected to further create profitability for the firm this year.

The firm has progressed well in exploring emerging markets this year. The vice president of Asia Pacific region C.L. Tung confirmed that his firm's overall sales to Asia-Pacific countries as China, India and Indonesia in the first quarter of this year have capped the total of 2010, thanks to stronger local demand for smartphones. According to a report published by Topology Research Institute, Asia will absorb 27.8% of total smartphones sold as the largest market in the world this year, compared to North America commanding a 27% share.

Institutional investors also indicated that HTC is expected to eat away at part of market shares that Nokia may lose in different regions to further drive up its sales and profits this year.

With its revenue for the first two months of this year already equal to 71% of its revenue goal of NT$94 billion set for the first quarter, the firm will certainly achieve the goal, and is expected to further drive up the figure by 31% in the second quarter.

HTC is expected to rake in revenue of NT$229.8 billion in the first half of this year, representing a 120% increase from a year earlier, indicated institutional investors.
