Shyh Yen Machinery Co., Ltd. is a professional manufacturer of whole-plant equipment for air-through non-woven fabrics used in filter media, seat pads and cushions, mattresses, bed cover/mattress linings, shoulder pads, and dust masks.

At present, the company's major product lines are textile machines, non-woven fabric making machines, air through non-woven fabric machinery whole-plant equipment, bale braking machines, fiber opening machines, automatic feeder machines, carding machines, cross lapper machines, drying oven (gas burner), slitting and winding machines, EDGE picking machines, fusible machines, and whole-plant equipment.

Shyh Yen sells these machines as part of its whole-plant solutions, including bale-breaking, fiber-opening, automatic-feeder, carding, cross-lapper, drying, slitting/winding, and edge-picking machines. The company produces the drying ovens on its own and contracts six long-term partner firms to jointly develop and supply the other units.

Shyh Yeh chairman Huang Ching-chih says that his company is the biggest and most specialized firm of its kind in Taiwan. He attributes much of his company's success to its commitment to product development and application of advanced techniques from foreign partners.

Huang says that his company targets the mid-range market with machines that rival German and Japanese brands in terms of functions but cost only a half. By cooperating with prestigious manufacturers in Europe and the U.S., Huang says, Shyh Yen can access the most advanced machinery design concepts and apply them to improve its products.

Shyh Yen recently introduced an oven unit for the double-layer air-through non-woven fabrics, which has a more rigid structure and a wider range of applications, including the making of the upper layer of mattresses and of filtration media.
