Everlight Wins Awards for Excellent LED Designs

Taipei, Feb. 1, 2012 (CENS)--Everlight Electronics Co., Ltd. has recently won the Taiwan Excellence Awards 2012 for the outstanding designs of its LED lamps evaluated in a contest among 1,145 products from 426 manufacturers of various industries.

The awarded products from the world's No.1 LED packager include a series of multi-purpose desk lamps, light bulbs, and streetlights.

Among the prized desk lamps is a collection that was designed by design house DEM Inc., which is founded by a grandson of the late Republic of China President Chiang Ching-kou. Its Prelude-branded desk lamp family and Dolphin-branded streetlight are also winners.

The company has recently branched out into lighting fixture operation following opening Everlight Solid State Lighting in 2008 to promote own-brand lighting fixtures.

Everlight executives pointed out that winning the awards suggests a full confirmation of the company's designs by the government especially when all of its products participating in the contest won the prize. The awards were granted by Bureau of Foreign Trade and Taiwan External Trade Development, both of which under the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

The awards highlight innovative value of a design. DEM-designed desk lamps underscore their versatile functions by integrating reading light, mood light, nightlight and decorative light into one. The Prelude desk lamp works as a reading lamp with the white LEDs on it and as a grow light with its red LEDs. The lamp aims to draw yuppies with its sleek and slim look as well as its five-phase dimming control.
