Taiwan's Domestic Banks See Record High Per-capita Staff Contribution in Q1, 2014

Thanks to strong performance of overseas operations, Taiwan's domestic banks saw average per-capita staff contribution hit a record quarterly high of NT$2.0327 million (US$67,757) in the first quarter of this year, up NT$258,700 (US$8,623) from last year's corresponding NT$1.774 million (US$59,133), according to the statistics released by the central bank.

Domestic banks raked in profits per-capita staff of NT$1.26 million (US$42,000) on average in 2011, which rose to NT$1.4574 million (US$48,580) in 2012 and further grew to NT$1.6286 million (US$54,287) in 2013.

Last year King's Town Bank witnessed per- capita staff contribution of NT$6.6312 million (US$221,040), the highest among the domestic banks, Mega International Commercial Bank and Shanghai Commercial & Savings Bank followed  with NT$5.7832 million (US$192,773) and NT$5.0251 million (US$167,503), respectively.
