Taiwan's Leading Footwear Makers Expect 5%-10% Revenue Growths in Q3

2014/08/11 | By Judy Li

With warming business climate in parts of the world and lingering sportswear demand due to the FIFA World Cup 2014, held June 12-July 13 in Brazil, Taiwan's three leading footwear makers, including Pou Chen Corp., Feng Tay Enterprise Co., and Fulgent Sun International Holding Co., all expect annual growths of 5%-10% in revenues for Q3.

In June alone Feng Tay and Fulgent Sun both enjoyed monthly record highs in revenues and are optimistic about H2 sales, with Pou Chen also expecting increasing orders in H2 despite having suffered labor strike in China in H1.

In April Feng Tay completed the expansion of its second Lotus plant in India, to which 10 production lines are to be added. Two production lines have been installed with capacity for about 80,000-100,000 pairs of shoes monthly, to raise the plant's monthly output to 400,000-500,000 pairs.

The company is projected to generate 20.1 million pairs of shoes in Q3 for a quarterly growth of 6% or annual growth of 14%.

Fulgent Sun is to add one more production line in its Vietnam plant that is to start up this October, having posted H1 combined revenues of NT$4.287 billion (US$142.9 million) for a sizable annual rise of 28.6%. (JL)
