MIRDC reports that it has been working on R&D of key technologies for power management systems for lithium batteries for electric vehicles, as well as battery safety testing instrument. Backed by cutting-edge technologies and experience, the R&D institute has built solid reputation as consultant of know-how and support to local enterprises interested in developing renewable energy storage technology in micro grids.

Tatung has aggressively over recent years been developing renewable energy technologies to have become one of only a few Taiwanese suppliers capable of supplying solutions, encompassing smart grid construction, automated electric power distribution and smart meters, to address sustainable energy use.

The MOU enables MIRDC and Tatung to achieve synergy by tapping mutual core competencies to jointly develop key technologies for lithium batteries, renewable energy and advanced energy-efficient motors, as well as enhance exchanges of information and techniques, which help boost development and competitive advantages of Taiwan's renewable energy industry.
