Rubber-grip collect chuck

Autogrip Machinery Co., Ltd., founded in 1989 in central Taiwan, has recently released a series of rubber-grip collect chucks, becoming Taiwan's first homegrown maker of the crucial component. 

Its rubber chucks do not only compete on quality as similar European products, but also come with some improvements, including high rigidity, positioning accuracy, processing precision, powerful grip, coupled with resistance to coolant, dust and filings.

They are designed to clamp workpieces either in diameter of 65mm or 42mm, as well as workpieces 0.5 mm wider or narrower. Repeated gripping precision is kept to within 0.01 mm.

The company attributes the high precision mostly to the high-performance rubber material it uses in the chucks, the optimum mechanical structure in the design of the chucks, and the knowledge it acquires from its European consultants.

The chucks come in three models--the CB draw collect chuck, the CBD dead-length chuck, and the CBE endstop chuck with full passage.

The CB model is developed for CNC turning centers, some special-purpose machines, and other cutting machines. It is the same as the company's thru-hole power chuck in terms of installation and the two are interchangeable without changing the draw tube that they need to operate. The unique design keeps coolant and filings  from trickling into the through-holes on the main spindle of the machine tools using the chuck.

The CBD is noted for its accurate positioning on feed length of workpiece—this machine's key advantage in significantly boosting its processing precision. Its clamping direction is vertical to the axis of the main spindle, which ensures the chuck does not push workpiece outward. Its gauge block and dust cover are replaceable to keep dust from falling into the through holes on the main spindle. These features are also seen in the CBE.

The V series is the company's most sought-after collection of chucks for four-spindle gantry-type grinding machines that can clamp workpieces with outer diameter up to two meters. 

Autogrip operates a 43,200-square-foot plant in central Taiwan to supply innovative power chucks and rotary cylinders developed by its in-house R&D department for processing high-precision products. 

Meeting international standards such as SGS ISO9001 and CE safety mark, this maker promotes its own Autogrip brand that is widely associated with excellent rigidity and precision. 
 

Over the past few years, the company has expanded its line to include rotary joints and cutting fluid valves, facing heads, and synchronous clamps, all of which are divided into six categories: power chucks, rotary cylinders, synchronous clamps, facing heads, rotary valves/rotary joints, and standard jaws.
