Tech x Industry Chain MEDICAL TAIWAN & MCMEX Connects Firms for Biz Talks

The 2019 edition of MEDICAL TAIWAN and MCMEX is debuting at TWTC Exhibition Hall 1 from June 27 to 30, with 326 exhibitors using 620 booths. The show serves as the most optimized platform that showcases the entire industry chain, from upstream to downstream, covering over three areas of “medical, health and care” in the B2B medical industry.

Technology trends are not the only developments this year's show will be addressing, as ICT integrated with smart solutions for eHealth and smart healthcare will be on the table as well. Moreover, two notable biomedical events will also be hosted concurrently along with MEDICAL TAIWAN and MCMEX: the “World Laser Medicine Congress 2019” and “TRANS Conference” global biomedical innovation conference. This allows for a synergistic effect through the combination of three pivotal events and elevates Taiwan's biomedical industry to the global spotlight.

Hospitals and Tech: New Trends for Smart Healthcare

With societies around the world heading towards an older society, the social consensus towards healthcare is increasing rapidly along with the rise of innovative technology and solutions. This year's show incorporates two exhibition areas: “eHealth” and “Smart Senior Care,” visitors can view the many products optimized for combining IoT applications with smart hospital systems and household healthcare systems.

Hospitals are pushing plans for a smart revolution as means to upgrade its services, with the aim to increase the efficiency of hospital administrative matters and improve diagnosis situations. Hospital indicators for quality, such as Taipei City Hospital, Taipei Medical University Hospital, China Medical University Hospital, National Taiwan University Hospital, Mackay Memorial Hospital and Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, are teaming up with collaborating ICT companies to showcase their services and research. That includes smart application solutions like AI assistive diagnosis systems, hospital blockchain technology development and smart ER systems.

“Smart OR Scenario Pavilion” Gathers Taiwan's Best Medical Instruments

Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taiwan Medical and Biotech Industry Association (TMBIA) teamed up to create the “Smart OR Scenario Pavilion” this year. A total of 18 Taiwanese firms will be exhibiting 60 products, from those used in the registration area to surgery rooms, recover rooms, that all showcase instruments used in an operation room at a hospital. This was done to allow foreign buyers to procure needed products with one stop. Firms that won the Taiwan Excellence Award such as Lite-Med Inc., Eped Inc., Hiwin, and DHEF Inc., will be exhibiting top high-grade medical instruments in a show of Taiwan's “MIT” manufacturing experience.

International Conference Taps into Industry Trends and Export Biz

Industry, government, academia, research and medical institutions will be hosting dozens of panel conferences and seminars throughout the show. For example, “Medical Taiwan Forum” has invited Taiwan AI Labs, Quanta Computer, ASUS, China Medical University Hospital, Taipei Medical University Hospital and BE ACCELERATOR to speak at the forum. The speakers are slated to analyze how industry players like ICT industry, hospitals and new venture investments impact and shape smart healthcare trends. At Smart Senior Care Forum, notable speakers in the senior care industry from China, Japan and Taiwan will be discussing the future of the industry, ranging from senior care, and renovation nursing homes or general homes, as well as applying smart products to meet market demands. Also, the Ministry of Health and Welfare's One Country, One Center (1C1C) project, the government medical initiative under its New Southbound Policy for promoting Taiwan's medical industry overseas, will be co-hosting a seminar during the show with TAITRA. Seven hospitals will discuss their experiences in collaborating with the seven New Southbound countries.
