Functionality and PPE in Spotlight at Upcoming TITAS Expo on 10/13

2020/09/30 | By CENS

The upcoming Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show (TITAS) is entering its 24th edition, with 803 booths, 356 exhibitors from 11 countries, including Taiwan, Sweden, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Switzerland, the U.S., Vietnam, Hong Kong, Singapore, and China.

Innovation, environmental-awareness, and products gearing towards the post-pandemic market are the focal points at TITAS. The five major exhibiting areas include functional applications, environment sustainability, personal protection, smart textile, and intelligent manufacturing.

A post-pandemic virus prevention area featuring textiles for medical and everyday use will focus on PPE and medical-grade textiles. Medical-related associations and local hospitals are also slated to attend a joint product launch event to showcase products useful in this sector.

Functional Application: Most consumers prefer practical and variety of protective clothing in the post-pandemic era. Products made using composite fiber or tissue can boast quick-dry or waterproof features and have attracted attention from global brands.

Environment Sustainability: Taiwanese textile firms are looking at innovative ways to reduce carbon emissions.

Personal Protection: With Taiwan's successful pandemic response, the local textile production chain saw a milestone-reshuffle that sees PPE at the top.

Smart Textile: Taiwan's textile industry uses 5G smart technology to push smart textile innovation, such as iQmax's core technology that combines textiles and electronic products.

Smart Manufacturing: Taiwan's textile manufacturing firms have combined both digital and database technologies to automate machines such as 4-needle 6-thread feeds, and 3-needle cover stitching for the most optimal production efficiency.

TITAS is also slated to release an online directory of exhibitors and products for buyers unable to travel to the show. Over 300 one-on-one procurement sessions will be held not only over video conferences but also in person. Show organizers will be live streaming interviews with notable exhibitors in English; these videos will be uploaded on the show's social media platforms such as its Youtube channel and Facebook page.
