The virtual Taiwan International Machine Tool Show (TMTS Virtual) kicked off on Nov. 10 after organizers canceled the 6th edition offline version (TMTS2020) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. TMTS Virtual would be the world's first machine tool expo hosted in a digital 3D virtual format.
Organized by the Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders' Association (TMBA), TMTS 2020 has 719 exhibitors on display, with over 100 3D virtual areas. Exhibitors include top firms in the industry: Habor Precision, YCM, Victor-Taichung, Chevalier, Fair Friend Enterprise, and Sun Firm, to name a few.
Virtual expos have become the norm in the post-COVID era. TMTS has used its database of both domestic and international buyers collected in the past decade to continue servicing exhibitors into the new virtual era.
TMBA Chairman Hsu Wen-hsien said this pandemic is the best opportunity for Taiwanese firms to further their digital transition and increase smart manufacturing and automation.
Undeterred by geographic and timezone constraints, TMTS Virtual will continue to showcase this year's expo at https://virtual.tmts.tw/ ; offline official show website: https://www.tmts.tw/zh-TW/search
