CENS to bridge domestic and int'l demand at TIMTOS x TMTS

2022/02/10 | By CENS

Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, the biggest machine tool trade show in Taiwan is slated to kick off this month, with the in-person 2022 TIMTOS x TMTS 2-in-1 show held at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 1 and Hall 2 on February 21 to 26, while the online edition will last from Feb.21 to March 21 for a month.

The 2-in-1 show is the first-ever of its kind, as event organizers have hosted the two shows separately in the past. According to organizers, over 950 domestic and international exhibitors have signed up to attend, using up around 5,100 booths, making it the biggest international event in the machine tool industry in H1 2022.

At the moment, top-tier domestic and international firms that are scheduled to exhibit at the show include Fair Friend Enterprises, Hiwin, Delta, PMI Group, Victor Taichung Machinery Works, KaFo, YCM, Chmer EDM, Takisawa Taiwan, Trumpf, Fanuc, MAZAK, Mitsubishi Electric, Siemens, and GSA Technology.

Economic Daily News (CENS) is a long-time media partner with TIMTOS, and is slated to send out a publication team to its booth located in Hall 2, Q0532 booth. Buyers on-site can request a copy of the CENS-published Taiwan Machinery and Taiwan Industrial Suppliers trade magazines, as well as enjoy using the on-site online procurement system, which aims to help buyers or those who cannot attend the show, to continue to tap into potential business opportunities.

Due to varied travel restrictions in the past two years, many exhibition organizers have turned to host events in a hybrid capacity, and this year's 2-in-1 machine tool mega show is not an exception either. In a bid to celebrate the 55th anniversary of Economic Daily News' inception, CENS has rolled out a series of marketing plans for companies looking to bring their business to the next level, and help both buyers and clients to keep pace with the digital transformation trends, such as creating virtual showroom, creating a way for buyers and suppliers to network without the traditional geographical and timezone restraints.

This year's edition of the TIMTOS x TMTS 2-in-1 show was originally slated to kick off in 2021, yet the overall industry was not impacted by the pandemic. According to Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessories Builders' Association (TMBA) statistics released in January, last year's export value hit USD$2.783 billion for machine tools, a 29.1% growth compared to the previous year at USD$2.155 billion. With the Omicron-fueled wave lessening in Western countries, the association believes that Taiwan's export performance could see growth between 20% to 30% if external factors stabilize, suggesting that Taiwan's machine tool demand is still riding its high.
