The company is now promoting the LC-901 lamps, installed with a digital sensor switch, in overseas markets.

Infra-Red Sensor Technology Corp. is Taiwan's No. 1 supplier of digital infrared sensors for motion-detection security lights and other types of security systems. The company is currently promoting an innovative sensor switch that can be installed in any kind of ceiling lamp.

The company developed its digital infrared-module technology based on a decade of experience in the security-sensor industry. Ceiling lamps installed with the module can be turned on and off according to user-set time spans, outdoor light level, or the motion of objects.

By using digital technology, Infra-Red can cram all of the module mechanisms and circuitry onto a board measuring only 4cm x 4cm. The module board controls on/off light functions with two circuits. In contrast, analog models use three circuits and are built using larger modules, making them too big for some lighting systems.

Recently the company rolled out the new LC-901 lighting model installed with a digital infrared sensor. The lamp is equipped with two energy-saving bulbs and can be set to turn on lights automatically for periods from five seconds to three minutes when moving objects are detected. The sensor has a maximum detection distance of eight meters and a sensing angle of 180 degrees. It can also be set to activate at nighttime, daytime, and dusk.

The company's Taiwan headquarters factory handles the design and production of devices for indoor lamps and security lamps sold in Taiwan, while its plant in mainland China focuses on the production of sensors for outdoor lamps destined for overseas markets. The energy-saving functions of Infra-Red's sensor switches have made these products increasingly popular in the global market. Today the company's major export outlets include the United States, Australia, India, and Southeast Asian nations. Exports contribute 80% of the company's revenue..

Infra-Red supplies its lighting systems under its "AllView" and "Infra-Red" brand names. It also supplies sensors to lighting-fixture manufacturers on an OEM (original equipment manufacturing) basis.
