Leadtech Leads in Technology For USB Solution Products

Established in 1994, Leadtech Engineering Co., Ltd. Is a specialized maker of universal serial bus (USB)-solution products with strong design and development capabilities.

Leadtech supplies a wide range of USB-compatible items, including single-function USB disks, multifunction USB disks (including MP3 player, voice recording, FM radio and built-in/external card reader), USB disks with built-in web cam, USB tool kits, and USB wireless computer-mouse models.

The firm has developed over 10 USB disk models. Its sophisticated USB tool kit contains many useful and convenient-to-use items, including a retractable USB cable, a patented 360-degree USB adapter for web cameras, adapters for printers and digital cameras, and chargers for various-brand cellphone and personal digital assistant (PDA) models. Management claims the kit is the most comprehensive currently available in the global market.

Leadtech has also developed the world's smallest USB infrared receiver for wireless computer mouses. The receiver is hidden in the mouse body and easily removed when needed for plugging into a PC's USB socket for wireless operation. The firm has licensed the technology to Logitech for use in Europe and the U.S., also utilizing it in own-brand products.

The firm sells about 40% of its output under its own "Latec" brand, making the rest on OEM/ODM (original equipment/design manufacturing) bases. The company exports 70% of its products.

Leadtech's strong technology R&D team is supplemented with contracted firms for styling tasks, bringing the firm's models their streamlined, futuristic look and feel. The Taiwan-headquartered company produces all of its products at a plant in Tianjin, mainland China, taking advantage of the lower costs across the Taiwan Strait. The facility has a monthly capacity of about 100,000 units.
