Taiwan Machine Tool Industry Unites at CIMT 2025 to Embrace a New Era of Global Manufacturing
2025/04/21 | By EDNThe 19th China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT 2025) officially opened on April 21, under the theme "Integrated Innovation for a Smart Future." Focusing on smart manufacturing, AI applications, and advanced autonomous equipment, the event has attracted over 2,400 companies from 30 countries and regions, making it a vital platform for tracking the pulse of global manufacturing technologies. Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessory Builders' Association (TMBA) has gathered Taiwan’s machine tool industry to jointly showcase their technical capabilities and innovation achievements.
This year’s exhibition spans 310,000 square meters and is expected to draw nearly 200,000 professional buyers. More than 100 Taiwanese companies are participating, including major machine tool makers such as YCM, Tongtai, Goodway, Takisawa Taiwan, Awea, and FFG, as well as component manufacturers like HIWIN, TPI, Taiwan Ying Hsing, and Detron Machinery.
YCM is featuring its UV560 5-axis machining center integrated with an automation module, showcasing a high-efficiency model for low-volume, high-mix production. Tongtai is presenting its intelligent TMS mill-turn machine, which combines automation with software applications to offer smart solutions. Awea emphasizes the flexibility and high productivity of 5-axis machining, fully demonstrating the innovative value of Taiwan-made solutions. HIWIN is highlighting its capabilities in integrating green technology and smart manufacturing under the theme “Trusted Partner in Intelligent Manufacturing.”
During the exhibition, more than 100 forums and industrial dialogues will be held, including the “Machine Tool Interconnectivity Technology Forum,” “NC-Link & umati Technology Exchange,” and “CNC Machine Tool Application Seminar.” The joint forum organized by the China Machine Tool & Tool Builders’ Association (CMTBA) and Germany’s VDW underscores CIMT’s role not just as an exhibition platform, but as a crucial hub for international technology exchange and collaboration.
According to TMBA Chairman Bertie Chen, CIMT ranks among the world’s four major machine tool shows—alongside Germany’s EMO, the United States’ IMTS, and Japan’s JIMTOF—making it an ideal platform for Taiwanese companies to explore new markets and connect with cutting-edge technologies.
In addition to cultivating overseas markets, TMBA is also reinforcing Taiwan’s industrial momentum. It announced that the Taiwan International Machine Tool Show (TMTS 2026) will make its grand return to Taichung from March 25–28, 2026. Leveraging Taiwan’s unique "front-shop-back-factory" model and local integration strengths, TMTS will offer a closer-knit platform for technology exchange and business matchmaking. Themed “AI Empowerment for Smart and Sustainable Manufacturing,” the event will spotlight Taiwan’s strategic positioning and competitiveness in the global wave of smart manufacturing.
