The soil of the sloping field at the Minxiong Township of Chiayi County is red and slightly acidic. Together with the high temperatures, this area is the optimal place for growing pineapples. Compared with those produced in the plain, the pineapples here are smaller in shape, but sweeter in taste and have a thicker fragrance.
