CAMBO-Cambodia International Machinery Industrial Fair

Cambodia Int’l Machinery Industry Fair (CIMIF 2011) Cambodia Int’l Textile & Garment Industrial Exhibition (CTG 2011) SHOW REPORT Cambodia Int’l Machinery Industry Fair (CIMIF2011) and Cambodia Int’l Textile & Garment Industrial Exhibition (CTG2011) were hosted in Phnom Penh’s Diamond Island from August 25 to 28, attended by 150 companies from 14 countries with total 250 booths. The shows were organized by Vietnam National Trade Fair & Advertising Joint-Stock Company (VINEXAD), Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service Co., Ltd., Hong Kong and Garment Manufacturers Association in Cambodia (GMAC), under the support of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce. The profile of exhibiting equipments contained widely from varies sectors, such as: (1) Textile & Garment (2) Footwear & Leather (3) Fabrics & Accessories (4) Plastics & Rubber (5) Printing & Packaging (6) Food Processing (7) Medical & Pharmaceutical Equipment (8) Metalworking & Automation (9) Tools & Hardware (10) Woodworking (11) Electrical Engineering (12) Agriculture. Speaking at the fair opening ceremony, H.E. Mao Thora, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Commerce said the trade fair paves the way for Cambodia to develop its current and future machinery industries with up-to-date modern technologies. He also emphasized that Cambodia needs to diversify its economic activities and promote exports to achieve a sustainable high economic growth and higher value-added products, and the exhibition is no doubt the ideal and useful platform for Cambodian traders and businessmen. There were totally 8,992 trade visitors during the 4-day event, and most of them were impressed by the professional atmosphere and the variety of industrial machines displaying from world renowned companies. It was also a good chance for them to upgrade old equipments, seek co-operations, and discover investment opportunities. Furthermore, more than 80% of exhibitors were also satisfied with the outcome and feedback from the exhibition, and confirmed to participate again next year. After a successful first edition, CIMIF and CTG have drawn more public attention not only in Cambodia but also ASEAN market. The shows are expected to gather more different machines from more countries in year 2012. CIMIF and CTG will be held again from August 17 to 20, 2012 at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Center. With full support from Trade Promotion Department of Ministry of Commerce as the co-organizer, it will definitely be an industrial exhibition that you can’t miss to attend.
