Frost & Sullivan to help safeguard security concerns of Indonesian economy as Knowledge Partner of Safety & Security Asia – Indonesia 2012
Safety & Security Asia (SSA) will be collaborating with Frost & Sullivan for the 2012 SSA show in Jakarta, Indonesia. Frost & Sullivan will be the Knowledge Partner for SSA Indonesia 2012.
“With Indonesia poised to become a major consumer market – the biggest in South East Asia – we are glad to have the opportunity to bring to the table insights into the increased demand for security devices and equipment. People frequently underestimate the importance of security equipment to the bottom line of a business. The fact that it is not the first thing that a customer sees in a retail shop or a hotel does not mean that they play a secondary role to the other facets of a business. It is these security equipment that will safeguard the assets and interests that can make the growth of Indonesia as a market possible,” said Mr Eugene Van De Weerd, Country Director of Frost & Sullivan (Indonesia).
“Frost & Sullivan is the preeminent go-to market research firm for the Electronics & Security industry. Also, Mr Eugene Van De Weerd has a strong background in gathering and producing actionable commercial intelligence for Indonesian B2B markets,” said Mr Edward Liu, Group Managing Director of Conference & Exhibition Management Services, “Retailers are particularly vulnerable to security threats of any kind. News of terrorism alone will drive down reduce traffic flow to shopping malls. We are very privileged to have Frost & Sullivan (Indonesia) lending their knowledge of the Indonesian security industry to SSA.”
SSA 2012 will have a number of conferences that require the advisories of Frost & Sullivan in bid to address the concerns of Indonesia’s security professionals in a number of key economic sectors: Asia Business Continuity Conference, Building Security Conference, Global Technology Seminar, Hotel Security Conference and Indonesia International Security Conference. These conferences will not only require top-notch speakers with the necessary experience and knowledge of the issues involved, but also speakers who are constantly scanning the environment for the newest trends and developments.
These conferences are highly relevant as the Indonesian government and businesses remain acutely aware of the threat of terrorism and the impact it can have on business. In the aftermath of the Bali bombings on 12 October 2002 and 1 October 2005, for example, Indonesian tourism suffered dramatically in the wake of both attacks, with numbers dropping noticeably in the immediate period following each attack. 9/11 had already caused a pronounced drop in international flights and a consequent drop in tourism, and the continued attacks in Indonesia have had a noticeable impact upon tourist revenue figures.
