Edison Opto Specializes in High Power LED Lighting

Founded in October 2001 in northern Taiwan, Edison Opto Corp. is now a globally leading supplier of LED-lighting modules, which are equipped with high-power LEDs from Cree Inc.

The company was founded by senior Taiwanese LED technologists, who have been in the industry for many years. They design and develop the modules for the company.

As the trend of high-power LEDs replacing traditional light sources has become more apparent, LED-lighting market has seen an increasing number of new entrants. In face of growingly keen competition, Edison has worked out a win-strategy by offering a total solution to thermal, electrical, mechanical and optical problems as well as efficient manufacturing and marketing services

After enjoying a 60% increase last year, Edison projects revenue to grow further this year mostly thanks to the issue of replacing power-guzzling, environmentally harmful lamps with LED.

Edison is offering various module package designs including its 1W-5W Edixeon lineup for various lighting purposes, 5W-20W EdiPower lineup for indoor lighting purpose, 5W-100W EdiStar lineup for outdoor purposes like streetlamps and tunnel lights, and 3W-5W EdiLine lines for decorative lighting purposes.

With outstanding work in improving module-packaging process, the company in 2005 won the government's financial support for its 100W-LED packaging program and unveiled its 100W, 6,400 lumen EdiStar lamp last year.

The company's products mostly go to Europe and America with a variety of green approvals including RoHS.

In October last year, the company opened a factory in Tongguan of the Chinese province of Guangdong. The facility is equipped with efficient production equipment to provide customers complete product supports and efficient deliveries. (KL)
