Celebrating the Success of WMF2010 & FAM2010 High Quality Exhibition with Unanimous Applause

The 13th International Exhibition on Woodworking Machinery and Furniture Manufacturing Equipment (WMF 2010) and the 13th International Exhibition on Furniture Accessories, Materials and Wood Products (FAM2010) achieved a thrilling closing on March 13, 2010. This two-in-one event attracted trade visitors from 73 countries to achieve total visitor number of 26,018 during its four-day running. The biennial event will be staged again March 2012 in Beijing.

Organized Participation

WMF2010 & FAM2010, inaugurated in 1986, have grown alongside China's woodworking industry. The two trade events are known for displaying highly cost-effective woodworking machinery, equipment and materials, able attract attention of global trade visitors every year. Many Chinese trade associations had confirmed their visit almost half a year before the opening, including the Shandong Furniture Association, Beijing Building, Door and Window Industrial Association, Anji Bamboo and Woodworking Machinery Association as well as buyer groups from ShiJiaZhuang City and Xianghe of Hebei Province, etc., with Langfang Woodworking and Furniture Manufacture Profession Association and Sichuan Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Furniture organized the first-time delegations to attend the event. More importantly overseas buyers came in significant numbers, including groups from Algeria, Bosnia, Japan, South Korea, India, Indonesia, Iran, Lithuania, Romania, Russia and Turkey.

Buyers from many well-known furniture enterprises visited WMF2010 & FAM2010, including the Guangming group, Landbong Furniture, Power Dekor, IKEA, Qingdao Yimu, Shenzhen HaoMai, Doton, etc. While Shandong Xinbo Wooden Product, Great Furniture, Tianjing Shoutai, Yichun Xincheng Furniture, Velux Group (China), Beijing Sun Laboratory Equipment, Beijing Haya Group, Baoding Qidian Office Furniture, Jilin Tengda Wooden Product, Henan Jiamei Wooden Product, Zhonghai Decoration and Beijing Guangzhong Decoration.

Regarded as an all-round sourcing platform, WMF2010 & FAM2010 typically receive ample positive comments.

Mr. Li Jianguo, General Secretary of Langfang Woodworking and Furniture Manufacture Profession Association said: “Our affiliates mainly look for bending, sealing and sticking machine, together with support tools/hardware. WMF & FAM provide all kinds of exhibitors and products we want. Besides, the services are very good. We shall visit again the next time.”

Technical Director of Liaoning Great Furniture, Mr. Li Yudong commented: “This is my first time to visit WMF. The machinery display is especially wide ranging. I have met many accessories exhibitors of knife & blade, motor as well as panel board manufacturers. This trip has been fruitful.”

Mr. Bei Yong, Manager of Shenzhen Hui Pui Wood Industry also said: “I visit WMF every time to see new developments, trends and technologies in woodworking industry here. What's more, I can mingle with old and new customers, strengthening our business relationship.”

For overseas visitors, Mr. Tom Janouschek from Major Woodworking Equipment (Australia) said: “I visited WMF & FAM once in 2008. The show is wonderful. I am looking for woodworking machinery here and have already concluded several transactions.”

Mr. Jun Aoyagi, President of Kotobuki Industry (Japan) said the purpose in visiting is to learn the latest on the Chinese and worldwide industries, as well as see the Chinese woodworking machinery, equipment and blades, adding that Japan does not have similar shows of equal scale. Many local and overseas exhibitors also praised FAM.

Representatives from Lian Zhong Lian said: “We sold many woodworking machines during the 4-day event with satisfying result.” With ample show content and extensive promotions, together with steadying global economic discovery, some exhibitors claim to have received many new orders at WMF2010 & FAM2010. Some manufacturers even have to add production lines or reschedule deliveries to meet demands.

Interesting Contests

Apparently the organizers believed holding side events as contests helped to build publicity and goodwill. Over 200 exhibitors participated in the “Special Booth Design Competition” and visitors voted for “The Most Creative Booth Design,” “The Most Contemporary Booth Design” and “The Best Display.”

In addition, technical seminars were held to enable industrial players and interested professionals to learn up-to-date technologies, techniques and market information, including “The Application of Electrical / Thermal Energy Plant in OSB / MDF / PB Industry;” “FCS (Full Control System) for Wood Based Panel Sanding Machine” and “PIM All-Carbide Wood-working Drill and Application.” market information.

Big Exhibitor Turnout

The WMF2010 & FAM2010 occupied some 60,000sqm across the entire CIEC, where 583 exhibitors from 14 countries displayed their wares, including 7 pavilions set up by the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI), Taiwan Woodworking Machinery Association (TWMA), and trade groups from Qingdao, Shanghai and Lunjiao, which exhibited some 2,000 machines and equipment, related technologies and products.

WMF & FAM are exclusively supported by the Federation of Woodworking Machinery Manufacturers, with honorary organizers being the State Forestry Administration of China, China International Exhibition Centre Group Corporation and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. The organizers include the China National Forestry Machinery Association, Adsale Exhibition Services Ltd., China Forestry Group Corporation and China Building Decoration Association.
