A leading home-security system maker in Taiwan, Aurum Electronics Corp. is promoting many advantageous products including a proprietary intelligent high-power LED motion sensor codenamed AEC-9331BSD-SP8.

The sensor, having won the HKEIA Award for Outstanding Innovation & Technology Products 2009, comes with a microprocessor-controlled LED tracking light moving in synchronization with a sensor camera. The system features a 2-gigabyte SD memory card, which stores pictures caught by the camera streaming in on a 2.4 GHz bandwidth. The card can be linked to play the recorded pictures on personal computer screen.

The LED light is outfitted with eight Nichia-made one-watt LED emitters, with each producing 80 lumens of illumination. Guided by three sensors aligned in three angles, the light's maximum tracking angle is 210 degrees and maximum illumination distance is 15 meters, the maximum area that the scanning camera covers.

Also added to AEC-9331BSD-SP8 are doorbell chime and dog barking sound, making it more deterring to ill-intentioned people.

The company's another brilliant product is a wireless sensor system, which was entitled by a United Kingdom lighting magazine as “Top Baby” during the Hong Kong International Trade Fair 2008.

As more friendly designs are introduced, the company has increased its expenditure on development of new products and enhanced the responsibility of its 24 R&D specialists in the regard. As a result, the company has won at least 20 patents including one for an LED lamp, which features zero-glaring reflection design it borrows from auto lamp.

The company's good designs for LED lights used in home-security systems have lured some lighting sellers to ask it to make LED lighting fixtures such as indoor and outdoor wall lamps as well as outdoor spotlights for them. Now, pure lighting products account for around 20% of the company's revenue.

LED has made the company's products friendly, helping the company win safety approvals including CSA, CE, RoHS directive, UL, FCC and R&TTE directive with other quality designs. (KL)
