Tata Group Interested in Taiwan's Electric-Bus Technology

Taipei, Feb. 24, 2011 (CENS)--Tata Group, India's leading industrial group, and JSW, India's second largest steel maker, have expressed interest to make procurement or seek cooperation in Taiwan, in such fields as electric bus, solar energy, electric magnet, and warehousing facilities.

Those pledges are part of the harvest scored by a business promotional delegation organized by the Cabinet-level Council for Economic Planning and Development (CEPD) during its visit to Bombay, India, yesterday (Feb. 23).

San Gee, vice CPED minister, reported that during his visit to Tata Group, Syanai Gupta, special advisor and former chairman of the group, and Janaki Chaudhry, chief strategic officer, expressed amazement and strong interest in Taiwan's electric-bus technology, which is nearing commercialization. They were also interested in Taiwan's photovoltaic and hotel businesses, as well as the setup of warehouses in Taiwan.

During a visit of the delegation to JSW, its executives expressed hope introducing the proprietary electric-magnet technology into India, for local production of electric magnets for use in various industrial motors.
