Taiwan Int'l Electric Vehicle Show 2011 to Kick Off on April 14

Taipei, April 8, 2011 (CENS)--Most major players in Taiwan's EV (electric vehicle) industry will showcase products in the coming 2011 Taiwan Int'l Electric Vehicle Show (EV Taiwan), to be simultaneously held with the 2011 Taiwan International Motorcycle Industry Show (Motorcycle Taiwan) at the Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC) Exhibition Hall 1 April 14-17.

The 2011 Taipei Int'l Auto Parts & Accessories Show (Taipei AMPA), 2011 Taipei International Automobile Electronics Show (AutoTronics Taipei) will also be staged April 12-15 at the TWTC Nankang Exhibition Hall.

As of the end of March, some 62 companies, including four foreign, have applied for venues from show organizer Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) at the EV Taiwan, including Simplo Technology Co., Ltd., C.C.P. Contact Probes Co., Ltd., Chroma ATE Inc., LICO Technology Corp. etc.

Industry sources say that the Taiwan government is designating EV as one of the six focal industries for special development.

The Taiwan Automotive International Forum & Exhibition (TAIFE)/EV Forum, scheduled for April 14, will see James Wang, Secretary General of Taiwan Automotive Research Consortium to speak on the "Status of Technology Research for EVs in Taiwan," involving R&D centers and technological colleges/universities. Achievements will be displayed to build opportunities with EV suppliers.

LICO is scheduled to sign an agreement with Shanghai Electric of China to set up an R&D center and joint venture in Shanghai to tap opportunities in the emerging EV line.

Other exhibits will include lithium-ion power cells and packs, electric scooters and motorcycles, motors, chargers, and related products.

Taiwan's Yulon Group will showcase the charging-station prototype, LUXGEN electric MPV and the tobe-branded electric mini car.
