ParLux Releases Energy Star Qualified Omnidirectional LED Bulb

2012/06/15 | By Ken Liu

Taipei, June 15, 2012 (CENS)--ParLux Optoelectronics Corp. has released an LED light bulb that measures up to the U.S. Energy Star standard for its 330 light beaming angle, which meets the standard's “omnidirectional beaming” requirement.

The bulb is developed as a substitute for incandescent bulb with not only the wide beaming angle but also excellent color rendering performance as well.

According to the company, the bulb is outfitted with a patented thermal-conductivity mechanism, which can quickly transmit thermal inside the lamp to the surface of the lamp's ceramic base. From the surface the heat is taken away by ambient air. Excellent thermal conductivity design ensures longevity of the bulb.

The ceramic lamp base keeps users from electric shock, another thoughtful design for the bulb.

ParLux is 100% owned by printed circuit board maker Microcosm Technology Co., Ltd., whose thermal dissipation technology lays solid foundation for the LED subsidiary.

So far, ParLux has introduced AR111, MR16, T8, PAR30 and PAR38 lamps in addition to the bulb. Over the past three years, the company has worked with the government-backed Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and several prestigious universities on the island to develop advantageous LED lighting technologies.
