Local and Foreign Airlines to Hire 400 Cabin Crew in Taiwan
2012/08/24 | By Renee ChenTaipei, Aug, 24, 2012 (CENS) – To cope with increasing tourism in Taiwan, not only Taiwanese airlines as China Airlines, Eva Airlines, and TransAsia Airways, but also foreign airlines as All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Singapore Airlines will recruit a total of 400 cabin crew.
TransAsia does not restrict candidates based on height and age, but require domestic or overseas college degree or above as prerequisite, as well as equivalent certificate or 550-or-above score on Test of English for International Communication; while preference is given to candidates who are multilingual in Japanese or Korean, or able to distinguish Chinese dialects.
It is the second recruitment this year and 95 flight attendants will be hired in September, said TransAsia.
About 125 flight attendants will be hired this September due mainly to increased flights to New Zealand, Japan and China, said China Airlines; while Eva Air plans to recruit 100 flight attendants in September.
ANA said it will hire 24 in-flight interpreters to help Chinese-speakers, to be paid around NT$ 51,000 (US$ 1700) monthly. Without performing flight attendant duties, the interpreters must be college or above graduates without restrictions based on height, gender, age, and Japanese-speaking ability.
Singapore Airlines said it will start recruiting at the end of this year and pay attendants about NT$ 80,000 (US$ 2,666) monthly.
